About
About the Ecommerce Profit Engine and the problem it is designed to solve.
Why this platform exists
Ecommerce sellers often see revenue before they see the full economics. Marketplace fees, payment costs, fulfillment, shipping, returns and advertising can materially change whether a SKU is worth selling.
The Ecommerce Profit Engine is being built as a decision-support platform that lets sellers use a common product model across Amazon, Shopify, Etsy, eBay and TikTok Shop while keeping each marketplace's fee logic separate.
Our product principles
- Make assumptions visible.
- Keep marketplace methodologies separate.
- Prefer useful decision metrics over vanity revenue.
- Explain limitations clearly.
- Maintain fee data rather than pretending rates never change.
How we review the tools
Calculation logic is tested independently from marketplace fee assumptions. Fee-sensitive inputs are intended to remain transparent and editable because seller terms vary by market, category and program.
Transparency
The platform should make clear when a result is an estimate, when a fee is configurable, and when official marketplace documentation should be checked before a commercial decision.
